    • Photobiomodulation, the impact of Light on the physiology of the body and its responses.
    • Learn how Chronobiology, the study of environmental or Specific lighting has profound biological effects on our patients.
    • Low Level Laser therapy, the new medicine, its use in pain management and dry macular degeneration.
    • Demonstrations and case studies on the impact of optometric phototherapy-Syntonics
  • ADVANCED COURSE – 2 days: Integrated “Fast Track” Vision Therapy

Understand why learning difficulties occur and how to incorporate Syntonics into your VT program

Learn how to change people’s lives in just 2 to 3 weeks!

    • Typically Optometric vision therapy often takes 6-18 months of daily “home therapy”, but why take so long? Considerations for the child with conventional “home based” vision therapy:-
    • For the child:-
Children who are already struggling in the classroom get home from school, tired stressed and fed up. They bring home assignments that they failed to complete in school, as well as regular homework. Their visual system is in an extreme state of stress
    • In addition, they are required to complete 20-30 minutes of “daily” vision training activities.
This reduces their time to relax, interact with their friends and take part in extra-curricular activities, hobbies and sport all adding to their already stressed condition
    • for the parent:-
Parents get home from work tired, prepare dinner, argue with children to get home work done, and then try to find time to sit quietly to assist their child with their vision training!
    • and for the therapist:-
Activities are explained and demonstrated in the practice, verbal and written explanation given, and yet when checked on their return to the practice at their next check, the activity has been carried out in a totally different way which has failed to produce expected gains. What is the result – the child has failed again reinforcing their low self esteem

“Fast track” vision therapy (as initially developed by the late Dr Wayne Pharr, OD) incorporates syntonic phototherapy, Brain gym activities and optometric vision therapy to provide speedy change in visual performance.

Appropriate combination of syntonics and VT has the ability to change these patients of all ages in a relatively small period of time.

This program allows total control of the therapy, the therapist can maintain ideal “pressure” during each activity, all activities are correctly carried out. Any difficulties with an activity are immediately identified by the therapist and appropriate changes made. Activities are carried out following syntonics which has already relaxed the system.
The child is able to return to school after just 2 weeks therapy with a much improved visual system, reading is easier and more enjoyable, the differences can be staggering in such an amazingly short space of time with improved quality of life

  • This 2 day course will –

Explain in depth the relationships between the visual field, visual neurology, visual performance, Skeffintons Four circles, and the impact of syntonic phototherapy

    • How they impact on visual development in children and adults and autistic individuals
    • How to assess for, utilise, and prescribe low plus and yoked prism lenses
    • Introduce Fast Track therapy programs for both children and adults
    • Teach simple brain gym activities
Discuss combining syntonics with appropriate optometric vision therapy activities
    • Understanding what you are measuring when you assess functional visual fields
    • Demonstrate the results of Fast Track vision therapy and measurable changes in brain function
    • Understand how to treat Convergence Insufficiency with confidence
    • Optional Kinesiology “hands-on” workshop to introduce delegates to “muscle testing” visual stress
